License Policy

What your license covers.

Site limits, GPL source code, updates, and activations — in plain language.

Last updated: June 30, 2026

This License Policy expands on the license section of our Terms of Service. If anything here conflicts with a written agreement we've signed with you, the signed agreement wins.

Overview

When you buy an Ympruve plugin you receive a license that grants the right to install and use the plugin, plus access to updates and support during your license period. Ympruve plugins are licensed, not sold. This policy explains what each license includes and how site limits, updates, and activations work.

License tiers

Each paid plan permits installation on a set number of production WordPress sites:

  • Single Site — one production WordPress install.
  • 5 Sites — up to five production WordPress installs.
  • Unlimited — any number of WordPress installs you own or directly manage.

Staging and local development copies of a site you already license do not count against your activation limit.

GPL and the source code

Ympruve plugin source code is licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL v2 or later) where applicable. The GPL governs the code itself. Your purchase covers something the GPL does not: ongoing updates, priority support, and access to the customer portal. Those benefits are tied to an active license and the site limits of your plan.

Updates and support

Active licenses receive plugin updates and support throughout the license period. Annual licenses include updates and support for one year; lifetime licenses include them for the supported lifetime of the plugin.

When an annual license expires, the plugin keeps working on your sites — it simply stops receiving new updates and support until you renew. We recommend keeping a license active so you continue to get security and compatibility updates.

Activations and license keys

Your license key activates the plugin on each site, up to the number of sites in your plan. You can deactivate a site to free a slot — for example, when migrating to a new domain. Keep your license key private: it is tied to your account and is not for resale, sublicensing, or sharing.

Permitted and prohibited use

You may:

  • install and use the plugin on sites within your plan's limit;
  • modify the plugin code for your own sites under the GPL;
  • use Ympruve plugins on client sites you build and manage.

You may not:

  • resell, sublicense, or redistribute license keys;
  • circumvent license verification, update checks, or activation limits;
  • use the plugins to violate any applicable law or third-party right.
